It seems that foreign occupation was preferred to the current situation of Soviet suppression, at least by ordinary Ukrainian farmers who were forced into the collective farm system. They soon learnt that there was no real difference between Hitler and Stalin. Above photos were found on a Chinese network and correspond with historical facts.



The United States has heightened the readiness of some 8,500 U.S. troops amid tensions between Russia and NATO over a potential invasion of Ukraine, but no decisions have been made yet to deploy them. [US media on January 25, 2022]

On February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the "Donetsk People's Republic" and "Luhansk People's Republic", as well as the treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between Russia and these two "republics". At the same time, he ordered the deployment of troops to both breakaway regions in what he calls a "peacekeeping mission".



February 25:
Russia's president Putin blew the fuse on Ukraine with what appears to be an extensive war on Ukraine. On the next day, Putin addressed the Ukrainian people in a bizarre speech which proves he is still influenced by the Soviet propaganda of the Stalin epoch.

In 1941, during World War II, Ukraine came under control of German troops who were hailed by Ukrainian farmers, happy to get rid of Stalin's despotism.

The German defeat of Stalingrad in 1943 was long forgotten when the European Union decided to extend their sphere of influence right to the Russian border. Ukraine was seen as an ideal partner because its people are Europe friendly and its economic situation was not to bad. Many Ukrainians even dreamt of the Euro currency to come.
